Questions
Is a craft fair booth worth it?
Compare your expected profit for the day with your hours. If profit per hour is below what you want to earn, raise prices or choose a cheaper or busier market.
How many items do I need to sell to cover the booth fee?
Divide the booth fee by the profit on one piece (price minus card fee minus cost to make it). The calculator shows this break-even number.
How much stock should I bring to a craft fair?
A common rule is 2 to 3 times what you expect to sell, with extra of your best sellers.
Do I pay tax on craft fair sales in Canada?
Yes, the profit is business income on your T2125. Charge GST/HST once your sales pass $30,000 in four quarters.
